Dear Hospitalhelp

Our Mother was recently in hospital suffering from Cancer. We had to regularly visit the hospital and spend long hours with her. During our visits we were apalled at the level of hygiene. The public toilets had wooden doors that were black with finger prints on them and when visiting the hospital canteen we were surprised to see that some of the staff were wearing what looked like their clothes that they wore while performing operations. Sadly our Mother died after much suffering. - her condition not helped by the fact that she also caught MRSA whilst in hospital.

Dear Sir/Madam

When did mixed wards come into operation? I had to visit my elderley friend in hospital recently and was shocked to see that she was in a mixed ward. She found it very embarrasing dressing and undressing in front of the opposite sex.

I have to say that my recent experience in hospital was a positive one. All the staff were extremely helpful and patient and took the time to explain what I was about to experience and why. I would like to say thankyou.

I was shocked recently whilst in hospital when another patient had an accident with their catherter bag with it leaking on the floor, only to see the cleaner just wipe over the mess with paper towels. No effort was made to clean the mess up with proper cleaning materials. Surely this type of incident can't help the current situation of bugs such as MRSA in hospitals.

Dear HospitalHelp

I can't understand why it is so expensive to park at hospital car parks! I had to recently visit my brother while he was in hospital. Each time I visited him I was faced with an expensive parking ticket. Surely the parking should be subsidised or even free. I don't know how some people can afford it if their friends/family/relatives are in hospital on long term stays.

Dear HospitalHelp

It is a shame that hospitals receive such bad press. In my experience I have always found hospital staff to be helpful and generally prepared to go out of their way to look after their patients. I think that the finger should point at the Management rather than those who work on the wards as it seems that the decisions made are based on finances and not on care.
